Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Designer in an Instant ("DII," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, book a session, or use Designer in an Instant ("DII," "we," "us," or "our"), we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and payment information (processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe — we do not store your full card details ourselves). If you book a session, we also collect the details of your request: the design category you select, any notes or questions you share, and any photos or videos of your space you choose to upload. If you become a designer on the platform, we additionally collect your professional bio, specialties, credentials, and payout information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate the Service, including to: create and manage your account; match you with an appropriate designer for your request; facilitate and host your live video session; process payments; send you confirmations, reminders, and other service-related communications by email or text message; generate a brief summary of your request to help your designer prepare; and improve and troubleshoot the Service.

3. SMS / Text Message Communications

If you provide your phone number and opt in to receive text messages, Designer in an Instant™ may send you SMS messages related to your account, application status, bookings, session reminders, payouts, and (if you're a client) periodic reminders to book your next session. Message frequency varies by account activity, typically up to 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in status with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your number is used solely to deliver the Service-related messages described above.

4. Photos and Videos You Share

Any photos or videos you upload of your space are shared with the designer matched to your session so they can provide informed guidance, and may be visible to you afterward in your session history. Please avoid including other people, sensitive documents, or anything you would not want a third-party designer to see when uploading images or video of your home.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the following categories of third parties as necessary to operate the Service: Your matched designer, who is an independent professional and not an employee of DII — receives the details of your session request, including any notes or photos/videos you provide, in order to assist you. Service providers who help us operate the platform, including our payment processor (Stripe), our video conferencing provider (Daily.co), our email provider (SendGrid), our SMS provider (Twilio), and AI tooling used to generate a brief summary of your request for your designer. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DII, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and session information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the information below, subject to any records we are required to retain by law.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may access, update, or request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at designerinaninstant@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information under applicable law, and we will respond to verified requests consistent with those laws.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

10. International Users

DII connects homeowners and designers across different locations. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date below. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
